Splish splash, stopping fire in its path

This specially configured firefighting 747 supertanker can dump 20,500 gallons of water at once on a fire, before landing to refuel and reload. Helicopters can't carry as much (they drop anywhere from 100 to 3,000 gallons of water in a single load), but they are great a quickly grabbing refills, usually from nearby lakes or rivers. Or, in the case of this helicopter in Portugal, from a nearby backyard swimming pool.

Props to the pilot.
